HISTORY

Pattern S.p.A. was founded in 2000 by Fulvio Botto and Francesco Martorella. Thanks to their previous professional experience working for the most prestigious international brands, Franco and Fulvio decided to set up their own business in the field of top line fashion pattern-making and engineering.

In 2009 is inaugurated the new facility in Collegno, Turin, while in 2011 Pattern took over a tailor–made production chain with the aim of responding more and more promptly to market’ needs.

In 2013 Pattern is  the first Italian company to obtain the International Certification SA8000 Social Accountability thanks to the alignment of the internal processes to the environmental principles and the implementation of safe human resources management, both internally and on the supply chain.  

In July 2014, Pattern took over ESEMPLARE, specialized in functional menswear, that becomes the only property brand of the company.

During 2016, Pattern published  its first Sustainability Report based on GRI principles, first SMEs in the textile and clothing sector and is selected to become part of the Elite Program of Borsa Italiana.

In 2017 Pattern acquires Roscini Atelier, giving new energy to an Italian entity that was going lost and reinforcing its activity in the pattern-making and production of women’s collections. In 2018, Pattern received the Elite Certification and lunched “From Red to Green Carpet” project, with the aim of making the company sustainable having zero impact on the environment within 2023.


In 2019, following the listing on the Italian Stock Exchange, Pattern announces the entry into the Group of the Emilian knitwear factory S.M.T.(Società Manifattura Tessile), specialized in luxury knitwear.

In 2021, Idee Partners, Tuscan company leader in the Product Development of luxury leather goods, joins the Group, which in turn includes Petri & Lombardi, historic leather goods company in Florence. In the same year, the Group opens a small production unit in Puglia, taking over the business of the tailor-maker Marta D'Ambrosio, a sartorial excellence specialized in women's lines.

2022 is confirmed as a strategic year: first joins Zanni from Reggio Emilia, point of reference in Wholegarment (seamless) knitwear, then RGB, Tuscan specialist in the production and processing of leather accessories. Last entry of Dyloan / Bond Factory, in Abruzzo, leader in innovative technologies and R&D  - thanks to the development in Milan of D-House, creativity and research laboratory - as well as an advanced production hub, thanks also to recent acquisitions in 2022 of Orlando Confezioni and T-Shock, which allow the Group to verticalize research and technological innovation activities as well as production business.

Pattern Group therefore achieves the announced goal of creating the first Italian Hub of Luxury Fashion Engineering, made by about 800 people and present on the main product categories (menswear and womenswear, clothing and accessories, still fabrics, knitwear and leather goods) starting from the R&D and engineering phase up to production.
